AutoPIDS - Your seasonal pattern

Automated Personal Inventory of Depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder

Automated Personal Inventory of Depression and SAD

Self-Assessment Version (AutoPIDS-SA)

Michael Terman, PhD, Thomas White, MD, MS, MA, and Janet B.W. Williams, DSW
New York State Psychiatric Institute and
Department of Psychiatry, Columbia University

This online questionnaire may help you decide whether to consult a clinician about depression, whether Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) may be your problem, and whether treatment ─ with light, medication, negative air ionization, or psychotherapy ─ should be considered. This is not a method for self-diagnosis, but it can help you assess the severity and timing of certain symptoms of depression. You should answer these questions privately - for your personal use only. You may want to discuss your results with your doctor or therapist, and you will be able to print out your feedback at the end. If family members or friends also want to use the AutoPIDS-SA, please refer them to this website for separate personal sessions.

The Center for Environmental Therapeutics offers you the AutoPIDS-SA, free of charge, entirely confidentially. At this time, CET cannot offer clinical guidance beyond the general information offered on our website, and we will not be able to respond to personal inquiries about diagnosis or treatment.
